We understand organizations across Chicago depend on REX, and we take this responsibility seriously. Like many others, we have been evaluating the impact of Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker’s ‘stay at home’ order issued today and wanted to reassure you that we intend to maintain safe, quality, and uninterrupted services for our valued partners during this time.

REX remains fully operational – it’s business as usual (although far from the usual circumstances, and with some added health and hygiene protocols for our teams). The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers announced that the Governor’s Stay at Home order excludes, for the time being, construction sites. REX electricians, General Superintendents, and other critical project site staff will continue to support customers at these locations, so long as the project sites remain open and safe to perform work. Our warehouse will remain operational as well.

REX office staff will continue to work remotely for as long as necessary, as we do our part to support recommended “social distancing” precautions. You can still reach any of us by phone or email.

While it may seem drastic, I am encouraged by the Governor’s aggressive measure that may help shorten the duration of the outbreak, and also avoid overwhelming our healthcare system. It’s the right step to protect our family, friends, and neighbors here in Chicago – and hopefully, avoid a prolonged outbreak.

I am inspired as I see our community coming together to face this challenge. REX has been a core part of the Chicago community and we are dedicated to supporting you all through this unprecedented time.

Please stay safe and know that you can count on Rex.
