On behalf of the REX Electric and Technologies (REX) team, our thoughts go out to all of those affected by the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Not only has this directly impacted those diagnosed with the virus, but today we are seeing the indirect impacts to our Chicago community through business and school closures, quarantines, and restricted travel.
The situation is evolving daily, and we are closely monitoring the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO) recommendations and guidelines so that we can reinforce the appropriate recommendations within our teams. We believe in doing our part to minimize the spread of the virus, and “flatten the curve,” as experts are emphasizing, which has resulted in several enhanced safety measures at our offices and project sites. These are intended to ensure the health and safety of our team, while also maintaining the same levels of quality and service all of you are familiar with.
- Our Chicago Headquarters office staff based at Two Prudential Plaza will work remotely until further notice. We will be monitoring the COVID-19 updates and adjust our work from home situation weekly. We don’t anticipate any interrupted service as a result of this shift. REX staff, as required, will continue to visit job sites, attend walk-thrus and embark on client engagement, as long as we are in compliance with updated CDC guidelines.
- Project site work will continue as permitted. However, we recognize that the virus has required us all to be mindful as we go through our daily activities, so we’re issuing additional safety guidance to our project site employees to ensure appropriate hygiene, health and safety measures, while maintaining our high-quality standards.
- All non-essential business travel is suspended until further notice. Employees on personal travel have been advised to heed the CDC warnings and tips when traveling.
We may not know what the future holds, but we believe we are stronger together. We will continue to monitor the situation and connect with you directly if we anticipate any impacts to our business or your project(s).
Take care,
Patrick Lancaster
