We are excited to announce that REX has opened a new office location at 1333 Butterfield Road in Downers Grove, Il., where our team will occupy the entire sixth floor of the Woodland Corporate Tower. REX’s new presence in Downers Grove will help the company expand its reach beyond the downtown Chicago market. We will also maintain an office space in the loop to accommodate our customers downtown.

As a leading electrical construction services provider, REX understands the importance of investing in your workplace. The company underwent a total renovation to convert the 25,000-square-foot space into a modern work environment that emphasizes collaboration and productivity.

“It’s important to us that our office reflect who we are as an organization, and one of the things people associate with REX is innovative design and technology,” said Eric Wolfram, Chief Information Officer of REX. “Our new space allows us to live up to our brand promise, and provide the most inventive and progressive building solutions to not only our customers, but our employees as well.”

The new space aims to engage and unify the REX team, creating a more functional and fun physical environment than ever before. Teamwork and connectivity are encouraged through an open floor plan and inclusion of multiple formal meeting spaces, informal collaboration areas and huddle rooms with plenty of natural light. Sit-stand desks allow employees to focus on better health and comfort while working.

This space truly showcases what REX can provide for customers, incorporating the latest in workspace trends and technology.

Included in the remodel are many smart building features designed to increase comfort and optimize energy efficiency. A centralized system controls the lighting which utilizes sunlight sensors to “harvest” daylight and reduce light levels when outside light is abundant. Smart management of lighting, along with LED-based fixtures throughout, will result in nearly a 50% energy savings over a typical office with older technology.
