REX was contracted by James McHugh Construction to provide the electrical, fire alarm, and voice/data needs for Gibson’s Steak Italia restaurant located at 233 N Canal, in Chicago. REX provided a wide range of services on this project including a full lighting package with Lutron controls and dimming, an entire voice/data system including 2 IDF’s, wireless access points, and a fire alarm installation. A separate chiller was installed for Gibson’s, along with PCU scrubbers for the kitchen hood exhausts on the fourth floor.

Gibson’s Steak Italia is a new, modern three story Italian steakhouse with access to a full bar area built on the first floor. The second floor is home to a full fine-dining area, while the third floor was designed to host private parties along with a lounge with additional dining space. The true crowd-pleaser at Gibson’s is the bar and lounge occupying the top floor, with a retractable glass roof and beautiful view of the Chicago river.
